Automatic Posts to FaceBook

    I have installed/configured the NGFB plugin. I think I have configured it correctly, however, when I publish a post, it is not “automatically” posted to my FaceBook page.

    When I manually click the FB button, it will correctly posted it to my FB page. However, I often schedule posts 4-5 days out and want to have the post automatically updated to FB.

    I have run the FB Graph Object debugger and do not see any errors. And, as indicated, when I “manually” push it, it seems to work fine. What am i missing.

    I have also turned on the “hidden debug” and unchecked the “apply content filters”.

    NGFB provides accurate meta tags in your webpage headers for social crawlers. That way when a webpage is shared on a social website, the correct information is displayed (image, video, description, author, product info, etc.). This is the core of what NGFB does.

    As an added bonus, NGFB also provides sharing buttons that can be included in a number of locations. This is especially useful for Pinterest and Tumblr, which need a little more than just the URL when sharing (thus the benefit of getting that info from NGFB).

    NGFB does not “post” to social websites, it provides the information that social websites need. There are many different plugins that will allow you to schedule and publish posts to social websites, but for the moment, this is not part of the feature set of NGFB (though perhaps it will be in the future).

    Thanks very much for your quick response. I definitely think NGFB does an excellent job of preparing configuring/formatting the WP posts for the social websites.

    If you are taking a poll/vote on enhancements, the one added feature/benefit that I think would be very helpful is the ability to have NGFB “post” to the social website when the WP post is published.

    Thanks. That’s definitely on the ToDo list, but it will probably be an extension plugin for WPSSO.
