Automatic Smush on Upload doesn’t work

    Hi all, I’m having some problem with automatic smush images on upload. In the right bottom part of media panel sidebar the messagge “Smushing in progress” appears and then it becomes “Not processed”.

    Then if I launch smush clicking the button “Smush” or launching bulk smush, it works fine.

    How can I solve it? Is it due to some missing php library?
    Installation is running on nginx, php 7.2, WP 4.9.7 and Flatsome theme 3.6.1.

    Hi @webmasterwallabi,

    Could you please try to refresh the page the you get the message “Not processed”. Will the stats appear? I think it might be auto Smushing, but just not properly updating the page.

    Hi Anton, thank you.
    After your reply I’ve made some other tests and I moved site on a public subdomain instead of an IP managed in my host file.

    Automatic Smush now starts even if “Smushing in progress” remains displayed. So I check stats in media library and the image is optimized! Yeah! =)

    For someone have the same problem, is it possible that Smush uses some callback functions which didn’t solve domain and then smush didn’t start automatically?

    @webmasterwallabi,

    Welcome. There shouldn’t be any callbacks that are affected by domain names. Might be that Smush was having problems getting the response from the API.

    In any case, glad that you got it working. I will mark this topic as resolved.
