When a user completes the registration he is automatically added to the WordPress User List.

In the settings I have configured that a confirmation email will automatically arrive and if he clicks on the link it should be added to the list I created “Brunacci Mailing List”.

I did a test with a user X: the user X is now registered, therefore confirmed … but it has not been automatically added to the “Brunacci Mailing List”.

Could you explain to me what am I wrong?

    Hi there @bisbocci 👋🏽!

Thank you for reaching out to MailPoet Support!

In the settings I have configured that a confirmation email will automatically arrive and if he clicks on the link it should be added to the list I created “Brunacci Mailing List”.

Mhh, could you please share some details on how you have created and set up that confirmation link that adds a user to a list? I don’t think that’s possible out of the box with MailPoet but I am curious and would be glad to help if possible.

    Cheers!

    Hi Dani, thank you!

Mailpoet> Settings> Basic information> Registration in the registration form

    -I enabled the service
-“Yes, add me to your mailing list”
-“Users can register for these lists:” … and here I selected my “Brunacci Mailing List”`

(I’m using the automatic translation … I hope the path is good for it)

    Hi again @bisbocci 👋🏽

    Thanks for the additional information.

So yes, with the settings that you have shared the user should have been added to the Brunnaci list.

Could you please share a link to the registration form so that I can try it from my end and also share a screenshot of MailPoet > Settings > Basic… tab?

    Cheers

    Hi @bisbocci,

    the registration form is https://www.brunacci.it/registrazione-utenti

I can see this is not the default WordPress registration form, is that correct?

In order to have the confirmation emails properly sent to newly registered WordPress Users, you need to have the signup confirmation feature enabled in the MailPoet > Settings > Signup Confirmation tab and the Subscribe in registration form option checked in the MailPoet > Settings > Basics tab.

If the users are added through a third-party plugin, it should trigger the user_register action during import, and this enables WordPress users to receive confirmation emails. If it’s not triggering this action, then the emails won’t be automatically sent after registration.

I believe this could be the case here. I’d suggest contacting the plugin’s author and asking them about it or changing the registration form to the default one.

    Hello,

unfortunately this is not the case because the options you have indicated are all enabled and in fact when a user registers correctly he receives the email for confirming registration to the newsletter: the problem is that when the user clicks on the confirmation link then it appears added only to the WordPress mailink list and not also to the Brunacci mailing list as I would like and as I set in MailPoet> Settings> Basic tab.

Perhaps the activation link contained in the confirmation request emails is not working?….

    Hi there @bisbocci,

So I see that we replied to your email via our ticketing system some time ago.

So the “Allow users who register on your site as WordPress users to subscribe to the MailPoet list (in addition to the” WordPress Users” list)” feature works to assign the subscribers registered using the default WordPress user registration form, and it adds the user to a second MailPoet list in addition to the WordPress Users list.

That’s because there’s a MailPoet checkbox that is added to the default WordPress User registration, but it’s not present in your custom registration form.

It seems you’re using the User Registration plugin, is that correct? Unfortunately, I asked for our devs’ help and they haven’t found how to extend the form with our checkbox when using this plugin.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience and for not having any workaround for that at the moment.
