Not sure what’s the cause, but your strings don’t show up in the ww.wp.xz.cn’s translation mechanism: https://translate.ww.wp.xz.cn/projects/wp-plugins/woocommerce-dropdown-cart

Also, it would be great if you could use the WordPress’ plural forms for the “item”/”items” string:

Hi Chris,

Thank for your report.

I believe the plugin translation working.
1. Please copy the language files (under plugins/woocommerce-dropdown-cart/languages folder) to /wp-content/languages
2. Rename the files to your language code, eg: woocommerce-ddc-pl_PL.mo
3. Edit the files to change the texts into your languages
