Automatic WP updates negatively affecting our SEO?

    Good day – For our WordPress website we have auto updates turned on, we just updated to 4.4.7. Our SEO vendor is telling us that WP updates are negatively impacting our SEO – specifically SEO plugins that were installed have been taken out, title tags have been deleted, etc. Is this an issue that you have as well when updating WP? It seems crazy to us that there is not a better way to set up our SEO so that we don’t have to re-optimize it every time a WP update happens. We’re hopeful someone can either validate that this is an issue with all users of WP, or give us a better perspective of what should be done compared to what our SEO vendor is telling us. Can you help us?

    This is not the default behavior of the WP core!

    What SEO plugin are you using?

    Where did you download it from?

    *cough* “Our SEO vendor is telling us that WP updates are negatively impacting our SEO” *cough* Seems to me like your SEO vendor is looking for a revenue opportunity.
