• I followed the tutorial and cleaned up/disabled the unused CSS/JS etc on my homepage. Before doing so, as instructed I disabled Autoptimize, while making and testing changes. Once everything looked good, I enabled Autoptimize. It appears, that i lose page structure, when autoptimize is activated now. Does anyone know if there are any incompatibilities between these two pluging? I don’t believe I disabled any necessary functions of Autoptomize while removing the unnecessary css. Any Advise?

@amerloimi sorry for not getting back to you sooner! Autoptimize and Asset CleanUp have been tested for compatibility and whenever you save the “Settings” in Asset CleanUp as well as clear the cache, the Autoptimize caching is also cleared.

There were issues with “Minify HTML” enabled in Autoptimize, but none of those issues have been reported in the past weeks. Please try to deactivate “Minify HTML”, you never know, it could be the culprit.

When you’re saying that you “lose page structure”, what exactly does it happen? Perhaps not CSS/JS are meant to be combined if you enabled this option. Please use Asset CleanUp as much as you can to clear unused CSS/JS (being careful of course) and after this try to combine CSS/JS if you feel the need to do so. This way, the final combined files will be smaller with less code than before, reducing the chance of getting any errors (not guaranteed of course).

Please re-enable the plugin with “Test Mode” activated, this way your visitors won’t get any broken pages when loading the website. I can bypass the test mode via /?wpacu_skip_test_mode and investigate this to determine the culprit. Let me know when you can do that! Hopefully, this didn’t discourage you to stop using the plugin.
