    Hi,
I use Autoptimize on a lot of my clients’ sites and have for years with no problems. I’ve now come across a problem that I’m unsure of when it started.

So far this has occured on 6 of the 6 sites I’ve checked so far…

When I log in to the WP admin, I can see that Autoptimize has things cached. However, when I delete the cache and then visit a few front-end pages, it’s never rebuilt… It stays at zero. If I look at the cache via ftp… Nothing is cached.

I don’t see any php errors, and nothing shows up in the debug log.

WP, themes and plugins are all up to date. Happens with different themes.PHP is 8.2. Different hosting companies.

Any clue what’s going on or what rock to look under?

It does still seem to be working on your own site (the one linked in your ww.wp.xz.cn profile)? Could be a plugin conflict, do those 6 sites share common plugins?

I believe I have solved my mystery. I’m thinking that the Autoptimize setting “Also optimize for logged in editors/ administrators?” action has changed recently?

As I recall, in the past when it was unchecked, Autoptimize would ignore the WP admin but still cache the front end. If I made changes in the back end, I always needed to empty the cache to make sure my changes showed on the front-end.

It now seems that when unchecked, Autoptimize doesn’t cache the admin nor the front-end.

When checked, Autoptimize caches both the admin and frontend.

When not logged in, Autoptimize always caches.

    Have things changed?

When that option is checked the frontend is optimized for everyone, if that option is not checked the frontend is not optimized for logged in users with admins/ editor rights. But that has not changed no.
