A/V Plugins

I’ve searched through the plugins with all sorts of key words, but I have to say the FAQ’s leave much to the imagination. Here’s what I am looking for, if any of the plug-in developers either have one, or know where I can find one, meeting my needs.

WE are the host in this case. I need two plugins for this site — one for audio only, one for video only, to provide streams. We are the producers, our programs only. (Education). But we want to have one of our (Multi-site core) sites that is our “studio” so to speak — where a user can click the audio player, and get our on-the-spot stream. If they want the currently running video, they click that player.

These players should, like “Media Player” in the Microsoft world, allow me to tie into a folder of audio, or a folder of video, and set up a playlist. So once a day or once a week, or whatever, we revisit them for a new playlist.

VideoPress obviously requires a hosted site. So that won’t work. Many players don’t seem to support the most common of all files — .AVI format. We don’t have the resources to plow through the last 10 years of videos and run them through a converter one at a time to make them some other format.

REAL simple here: We need an audio player plugin for WordPress that allows MP3 playlists. We need a video player plugin for WordPress that allows AVI playlists. Nothing fancy needed. Lean, a click to play button, and as long as possible on the broadcast list potential.

Who knows where to find such animals?
