Avada is one of the best-selling WordPress themes out there: https://themeforest.net/item/avada-responsive-multipurpose-theme/2833226

The Live Editor feature (https://theme-fusion.com/documentation/avada/avada-builder/avada-live-editing/) is very important to our website.

The problem I’m experiencing is an issue between Jetpack Boost and Avada (Live Editor). It would be great if Avada and Jetpack Boost could work together better.

The Jetpack Boost feature “Defer Non-Essential JavaScript” is breaking the Avada Live Editor. I’m guessing there’s some essential JS that needs to run for the Live Editor to work correctly. Is there any way for you to add the Live Editor JS file(s) to your list of essential JS?

Hi @hakimianweb

If you experience unwanted behavior when you defer JS with Boost, it could be that the affected functionality relies on the JavaScript files being in a certain order or being made available to the page as soon as possible.

In such cases, you can tell Jetpack Boost not to defer those specific files by adding the attribute data-jetpack-boost=”ignore” to the script tag.

E.g. <script data-jetpack-boost=”ignore”>

That would require for me to go into the theme files of Avada and make changes. Is there no way for you to consider adding these files to some master whitelist that you’re using?

Hi @hakimianweb –

I’m checking with our development team on whether or not there is a possibility of using this functionality.

For now, I would recommend making a child theme and excluding the scripts if you wish to use Jetpack Boost with Avada.
