Avoid search in widgets

    Hi guys, Great plugin but i have a question. We currently show the tags and categories in footer widgets on all pages and posts. Is there a way to avoid these in the search. What’s happening is if you type any of the tags we think it is picking up the footer tags on every page so therefore showing all posts. We only want to search tags and categories within the posts.

    Or are we doing something wrong?

    Hi!

    Those are definitely not picked up by the plugin, as it searches the database, not the actual visible page content. It may only have been a coincidence – the same keyword probably was within the post content as well as within the footer tags.

    But if you do a test, for example if I check post ‘Gunpowder studios’ and pick a random word from the bottom widget that is visible on that post page, like ‘massage’, and try that in the search, it does not return the ‘Gunpowder studios’ post as result. I believe it was only coincidential, the keyword was most likely within the content somewhere, I’m guessing.
