• I am having major problems in upgrading my B2 Blog to WordPress… First here is my server stats:
    Operating System: Linux
    Kernel version: 2.4.20-020stab009.3.777
    PHP version: 4.3.8
    MySQL version: 4.0.20-standard
    cPanel Build: 9.4.1-RELEASE 64
Second I will describe my problem. As I understand the install, I am to install WordPress OVER the B2 SQL. Also I need to delete all the B2 files and upload all the WordPress files in their place. Ok, so I delete the B2 files, (backed up of course) and I put all my WordPress files where the B2 files were. Then as the readme says, I set up the config file just like my B2 config file was (same SQL database and same table prefixes) and then I rename it and upload to my WordPress folder. Finally I go to the install file. Step one – Fine, Step two – Fine (I put in the correct address to my blog), Step three is where the problem is… It says this below the WP logo:
“You appear to already have WordPress installed. If you would like to reinstall please clear your old database files first.”
I can’t figure out how to get around this… It must be because I have the same table prefixes as my B2… I dono, would somone be willing to A. Upgrade my B2 to WordPress, or B. Write a detailed (or give a link) upgrade process and highlight anything I did wrong? Thanks a bunch!

Whoops I forgot to sign in… Anyways, I hope somone can help me!

    Anyone?

    Run upgrade.php instead of install.php.

Run Upgrade.php right away?… Ok… Ill try it.

It doesn’t work! It tells me “It doesn’t look like you’ve installed WP yet. Try running install.php.”… Somone please help… (Btw this is the guy that posted this post…)

My suggestion would be to first create a working wp install, and use the default table_prefix of ‘wp_’
Then export your old b2 data from mysql, and import it into the new database. That may need things renaming.. not sure on that .. and then run upgrade just to be sure all is good.
I’ll try and help if I can – tamba2 at gmail dot com
