Back-end flag?

I’ve previously been able to show a custom flag in the back-end through the pll_get_flag filter. The filter and function was in the wp-content/polylang/pll_config.php file (I’ve also tried to add in in my themes function.php too). But the filter no longer seems to be run? I’ve added a die(‘THIS ENDS HERE’) in the filter but with no luck.

How do I add a custom flag to the admin area?
