    No, the plugin optimizes images “in place”. What you are asking is called restoring from backups.

    You do keep backups of your website, right? That’s what I mean. You restore from a backup that you’ve done. Some webhosts also have automatic backup procedures as well, so you could check with them if you don’t do your own backups (but you really, really, really should do your own backups if your site is important to you).
