back up, close down, and access wordpress offline

    For a variety of reasons, I think I am going to close down two of my WordPress sites. I have no real reason to maintain that content online, but at the same time I don’t want to just delete it. What is the best way to back up/download my wordpress site, offline, just for personal use?

    FWIW, I have an offline XAMPP setup. Would that be the easiest way to view the site offline?
