Backend columns squashed on mobile device

When we view either the product or order page on a mobile device such as an iPhone, the column is squashed into the left side making the page very difficult to navigate.

If I view the WP posts page it looks correct and the column spans the full width, like this.

I tried with with the default WP theme and all plugins disabled (except jigoshop) and the problem still occurred. We never had this problem when we started using jigoshop, one of the updates has broken this layout / view.

Any advice appreciated!
