It works now. But the image doesn’t center and it seems off. Do I need to do something in the CSS?

It looks centered to me. Can you give me a screenshot that shows the issue?
Hi I’m having the same problem. My background doesn’t show in the preview pane and therefore is not scaling on the site.
I have tried adding from the media lib and also the url.
I am using WP 3.5.1 but not sure how to check php version, sorry.

The preview image does not affect the scaling of the image at all, so if you were able to paste the image URL in manually (which it looks like you did), it should be working fine.
I had not removed the image before using the plugin.
I tried this before and it didn’t work. This time your plugin worked beautifully
