How do I set a background image in the Otter blocks and put text on top of the image?
I can see how to insert an image and I can see how to add custom css, but in all the text editors, the background choices are just colors.
[I tried searching the Support forum as I’m sure this is a common question, but every time I search it just returns a page with no results. ]

  • Hi @mbrown75,

    Thanks for choosing Otter!

The Image block comes from the core, not from Otter. You can add that block, click on the “Add text over image” button that appears in the bar above the image and then add the desired text – screenshot.

Thank you for the reply! Now for the follow up question 🙂
How do I add a core block?
When I type in a paragraph, it’s only the Otter block options that I see.

    Hi @mbrown75,

    Please refer this guide: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/adding-a-new-block/.

    Hope it helps.

@poonam9 That doesn’t help, because that’s not what my menu options show. When I click the plus sign or the /, the only choices I have are Otter block. I do not see any way to toggle to the standard Word Press blocks.

    Hi @mbrown75!

The blocks from Otter appear at the top when you click on the plus sign in the editor, however, if you scroll down a bit you’ll see the blocks from the core. Otter blocks are colored in red, while core blocks are black, so they are pretty easy to differentiate – screenshot.

    Have a nice day!
