Background process is running: Setting user status

    This message “Background process is running: Setting user status 0/###” popped up in the wp-admin area of my website. It used to come up every now and then and it would go away but this time it stays up. When the message is being displayed, navigating around the admin area of the site is very slow. Any suggestions on how to resolve this message and restore back end performance?

    Please verify that all users have assigned roles and statuses. The plugin attempts to assign users without a status to the default status. However, this may be blocked by other plugins. In this case, the process will repeat over and over again.

    New users always receive a status and role upon registration. The issue on your site may have occurred due to incomplete user data import. We recommend always checking user statuses and roles after importing.
