Backing up large database – 8GB+

    I have a large database and small site that I want to backup. Would it make sense and decrease server load if I change the “Split archives every:” option to a lower number? Or does the splitting not happen at the database level?

    The database is millions of lines which is the reason for the size. The actual WP and other files are only about 250MB.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay over the weekend.

    I’m afraid UpraftPlus is not able to split the database into smaller zip files. It can only split the other components – plugins, themes, uploads and others.

    What happens when you try backing it up in UD 1.16.31 or later? We added some optimisations that make backing up large databases much faster.
