I’ve been trying to backup my site to my Google drive for days. I’ve tried reducing the chunks to 50MB, I’ve authorized, reauthorized, and still each attempt has been apparently unsuccessful.

I’ve even updated other sites I have and been successful without issue. So, am not sure what is going wrong and could use some guidance.

I tried copying the log to pastebin, but it was waaaay too big, so I searched for an error (keep in mind, I have no idea what I’m looking for) and copied this from it:

4782.104 (10) Google Drive: Upload error: Operation timed out after 60001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (line: 117, file: /home/vyxcr6p8frqu/public_html/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Google/IO/Curl.php)
4782.106 (10) An error condition has occurred for the first time during this job

Please help. Thank you in advance. – CArRiE

    Hi,

“4782.104 (10) Google Drive: Upload error: Operation timed out after 60001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (line: 117, file: /home/vyxcr6p8frqu/public_html/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Google/IO/Curl.php)

This indicates that there is still a network issue occurring between your site and Google’s servers.
You will need to ask your server admin/hosts to investigate the network connection.

It is possible that the connection is being killed off by a firewall or security module rule.
Please could you ask your server admin to check any security module logs for if this is the case?

    Thank you Bryle,

Are you suggesting I contact GoDaddy (who hosts my website)? I’ve tested a few of my clients sites hosted with them using Updraft and haven’t had any issue, so not sure that is where the issue is.

I made another attempt after turning off my firewall as well as deactivating my whole WP Security, in case it was interrupting. Unfortunately, I still get the same unsuccessful results.

Here’s my latest log (partial because it was rejected in entirety as it was too large): https://pastebin.com/3DhgQG37

Thank you again for your time and expertise! I really appreciate you!

    Hi,

Yes, that is what I suggest. Please can you check if there are no errors from their end?

Could you also try reducing the split archive size further down to 25Mb? Does that make a difference?

    Hi Bryle

Thank you again for your assistance! I called my host (godaddy) and they checked my error logs and there aren’t any errors. They checked and I’m using the latest PHP.

Prior to calling, I did reduce the archive size to 25Mb, but still received an unsuccessful result.

I just did a test backup – storing it on my Dropbox account and it worked fine. BUT, I would really rather save my backups on my Google Drive, so am hoping that there is a solution.

Well – today WordPress rolled out an update… So, I updated and tried to run the backup and save to Google Drive (again) and what do you know… this time it worked!
