    Hi,

    I have all interactive options switched off in my WordPress site, e.g. comments. Would backing up wp-content folder (and all its contents), wp-config.php and MySQL database be sufficient. There are a lot of files in total!

    That should suffice, but make sure that there are no other files in any other folders that WP uses. They would not be in wp-admin or wp-includes, but folders/files in root that are not wp core files. This is especially important when site has plugins for images (which allow using folders wherever) or older installs (ones that have been around for along time).
