Backup before small move

    I’m planning to move a small site later and want to take a clean backup first. Is it better to export everything at once, or should I exclude cache and backup files before exporting?

    Hi shaylee20,

    I hope you are well.

    We’d definitely recommend using the Advanced Options during export to exclude cache files before creating your backup. This will give you a smaller, cleaner export file that’s faster to transfer and import on the new site. It is recommended to exclude post revisions and spam content too.
    Backups of the plugin will never be included in a backup so you don’t have to worry about it.
    Cache is regenerated on the new site, usually saving permalinks after import is all that is needed for most sites.
