Backup files sets not complete (new)

    Recurrent weekly backups sets (on googledrive) were not complete in my case, fortunately discovered when trying to restore for replication and not for rescue. Seems to be related with updraft directory containing residue *.tmp files from previous backups. Manual emptying updraft directory and a few manual backups were necessary to obtain a full backup set for this infrequently visited 3Gb blog.

    Is it possible to issue a failure warning with the final report in this case?

    Hi,

    The log shows that your backup set was complete. Sometimes zip files are not numbered consecutively, and the sequence may skip a number. However, this does not mean that your set was incomplete – if it is, a warning or error will be shown.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer and this useful information. At restoration updraft signaled that the set may be incomplete and files were indeed missing, so I looked in the log. The cause could be my error when manually downloading the set.

    Not very easy to sort things out in the log as seen in another backup log including the list of files in the backup set on gdrive.

    Ah, yes – I’d forgotten this. The restoring side will flag an alert if there’s a skip in the sequence. I will have to think about how to make this more obvious. (Though, after 2.2 million downloads, this is only the 2nd time I’ve seen it happen, so hopefully it’s a freak event).
