Backup from 2018, restore failed
-
Hi, I’ve been given a website to host on my hosting platform. I have been provided a folder of files, looks like its a copy of the original site. Its a WordPress website and I found the updraft backup files. I did a fresh install of WordPress, installed the updraft plugin, uploaded the backup files and did a restore. However I get an error when trying to go to the site. Any ideas?
The error is:
/home/u476302974/domains/topazmedia.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/product.photocrati_nextgen.php is not a valid Pope module
The domain name is the same.I did get the following notice just before doing the restore:
The site in this backup was running on a webserver with version 5.3 of PHP. This is older than the server which you are now restoring onto (version 8.3.16). You should only proceed if you have checked and are confident (or willing to risk) that your plugins/themes/etc are compatible with the new PHP version. Any support requests to do with PHP should be raised with your web hosting company.
The website address in the backup set (http://www.topazmedia.co.uk) is slightly different from that of the site now (https://topazmedia.co.uk). This is not expected to be a problem for restoring the site, as long as visits to the former address still reach the site. This backup set is of this site, but at the time of the backup you were using http, whereas the site now uses https. As long as your web hosting allows http (i.e. non-SSL access) or will forward requests to https (which is almost always the case), this is no problem. If that is not yet set up, then you should set it up, or use below search and replace so that the non-https links are automatically replaced.
The database server that this WordPress site is running on doesn’t support the character set (utf8) which you are trying to import. You can choose another suitable character set instead and continue with the restoration at your own risk. Go here for more information. Go here for more information.
