I had to disable the plugin to stop it. I don’t understand what it is doing or how I started the process.

    Hello @grearl ,

Honestly we never got a report of such issue.

Please enable the plugin, then navigate to the plugin section Troubleshooting > Check advanced options and click on the button:
Share debug info with BackupBliss team

And here’s a screenshot that shows where to get it: https://prnt.sc/lKbjrSAqQudm

Kindly post the debug code in your reply.

    Kind regards

    Hi MixHa,

I diabled the plugin after writing you because it continued to generate folders.

    Here’s the debug code: BMI-8ykaYozX-54870

    Thank you, Rich

    Hi @grearl

Such issue may appear when some user or third party software removes our configuration file, which is located under this path:
    wp-path/wp-content/backup-migration-config.php

If this file get removed, our plugin will generate new backups directory as previous path was stored in removed config file.

Make sure if you use any scan software to whitelist this path from removal.

Can you also let me know which hosting provider you use, or if your site is self hosted?
    Thank you!

    The site is with ifastnet.com.

I found the .php file which only contained the following:

    <?php //[]

In the short time I had the plugin activated to generate your debug file, it generated these folders:

    Thank you

    Hi @grearl

Seems like your hosting provider replaces content of our config file which makes it invalid and our plugin is forced to make new one all the time.

In such case I am unable to help, you need to contact your hosting provider and ask them to whitelist our config file within their security solution as the .php file content gets replaced periodically by them.

Feel free to send them URL to this topic.

    This was their reply:

“We do not have anything on the server that would remove that specific file. Something else is removing that unfortunately.”

I guess that means I need to remove the plugin?

    Hi @grearl

Could you please try the following:

    1. Disable our plugin
    2. Remove all directories which starts with backup-migration-xxx
    3. Remove wp-path/wp-content/backup-migration-config.php
    4. Install latest version of our plugin which you can download below
    5. Activate the plugin and reset plugin configuration (you can do that at the bottom of section where you can also find debug code generation)
    6. Generate another debug code like MixHa explained above
    7. At this point you can try to make backup and check if it will work

    Beta download: https://backupbliss.com/downloads/plugins/bmi-betas/backup-backup-1.3.5.2.zip

There is actually one more possibility, but we’re not sure how to reproduce the issue. In such case when the config was not replaced by any third part software but it was damaged during migration from old format to new it may be possible that our plugin is stuck and cannot fix itself. Above beta may help in such case, but it requires you to reset plugin configuration after installation.

Let me know if that works on your website 🙂
    Thank you!

    Here’s the debug code: BMI-iXq002hq-31997

It looks like the backup was successful! I was watching it and at about 74% it errored and went back to 0%, started again, and was able to complete.

Here is the log file: https://drfarnum.com/wp-content/bliss_backup_logs_11-16-23.txt

If all is well, thank you very much for your help!

    Hi @grearl

Thank you for confirmation and further tests, your debug code confirms that our plugin settings get loaded properly on your website.

The thing you noticed with going back to 0% it was our automatic error resolver that detected fatal error and adjusted our plugin settings specifically for your website, so you won’t run into errors in future.

Let us know if you will face any other issues in future 🙂
    Thank you!
