I always develop sites locally on MAMP, the site I am trying to back up exists only on my hard drive and runs within the MAMP environment. When I try to use Updraft to back up different iterations to show the client, I get Backup not finished notices. I use a shared Dropbox with plenty of space and no issues uploading/downloading files on and with the same computer.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reaching out!

That error indicates the connection to Dropbox was interrupted during upload — this often happens on local environments like MAMP, which don’t have a stable public connection. Dropbox requires a live, web-accessible server to complete uploads, so local setups usually can’t maintain the handshake.

Could you please send us a screenshot of your Dropbox settings from the UpdraftPlus dashboard? It would also help to re-authenticate your Dropbox connection to ensure it’s properly linked. You can follow this step-by-step guide here: How to Connect UpdraftPlus to Dropbox

    Best,
    Bryle
