In UpdraftPlus, backups have separate parts to them (uploads, plugins, themes, database). When using email for remote storage, these are sent in separate emails. Very likely, you are only receiving one of the emails, because the others are larger than your email provider (or the webserver that receives the email initially) will carry. A typical limit is 20Mb, so if your uploads is 38Mb, then this is unlikely to get through. Email is only suitable for sites known to be quite small (<20Mb, usually).

Ok, but the plugin does not split the files too large?
There’s a “split” setting in the ‘expert’ settings at the bottom of the ‘Settings’ tab. That can be placed as low as 25Mb, if you wish.

I tried with 25 MB but the files are too small for both email (gmail) that the server (80 KB).
When not using the “remote”, the file on the server weighs 37 MB.

Hi Fabio,
You won’t be able to send a 37Mb backup via email. Your web hosting server’s email delivery service is unlikely to accept an attachment of that size. (Also remember that email attachments are 1/3 bigger, due to the encoding). I’d recommend using Dropbox, or another remote storage method. Email is only suitable for sites known to be very small.
