backupwordpress update shutdown site

I’ve disabled the plugin folder via ftp to get the site backup.

This is what was displayed as the only thing on my site until I disabled the plugin

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /homepages/21/d321160186/htdocs/wsb5797864802/wp6/wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress/backupwordpress.php on line 34

I downloaded the plugin again and checked the backupwordpress.php files and they were identical.

Any ideas?
