    Hello,

i have Backwpup installed, and its working fine together with bullet proof security. I was just wondering, under the Options setting is marked that backwpup protect Backup Folder with htaaccess File. Can i take out this setting, will bullet proof overtake this protection automatically when installed? Not to run in problems, when backwpup create hta File, and bullet proof also?

    Thx
    Sally

You should leave the BackWPup htaccess protection option setting enabled. htaccess files are hierarchical/recursive (parent to child relationship). The BackWPup htaccess file is located in whatever backup folder BackWPup creates and will apply its security protection/rules/code to only that backup folder. You can have multiple htaccess files under your hosting account.

    Example of htaccess hierarchy:
    /.htaccess
    /wp-content/backup-folder/.htaccess

The /backup-folder/ htaccess file will apply its security rules to all files in the /backup-folder/ folder instead of applying the security rules from the parent htaccess file: /.htaccess in your website root folder.
