Never mind, I discovered it was because Curl is not supported on my server at the moment…
I was able to enable the StopForumSpam checkbox though – even though that feature requires Curl.

Ah. Ban Hammer does not check for the existence of Curl. I’m not sure if it can, since the configuration is different on each server. I’ll see if I can put a check in, though. If you dont have it, it won’t let you check the box, that sort of thing

Oh WICKED! I’ll be putting that in this week, if not today!
I’ll have a version you can test soon (as soon as SVN catches up with the WP repo). Probably late this afternoon 🙂
I don’t have a non-cURL server to fully verify on, but it ran without errors on my box.
Okay, go to http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/ban-hammer/download/ and download the development version if you want to test. I’m banging away through my regular tests, but I’m 99% sure this should hide it for the curl-less.

Thanks! I’ve already got my web host to install cURL for me though, so can’t test on a non-cURL install anymore either 🙁
Oh the irony 🙂 Well, since it works on cURLed servers, I’ll just push it live and if someone spots it doesn’t work on the cURLless, I’ll adapt 😉
