Hi @joanlaura404
Thanks for using the plugin and for creating the thread.
The settings may have been reset if the Mobile Smart App Banner settings were saved with invalid or unsupported characters in version 1.0.5. This behavior was introduced as a security measure to prevent invalid characters from being stored. However, in the upcoming update, those unsupported characters will simply be removed during saving, rather than resetting the entire Mobile Smart App Banner settings.
While checking the website you shared, I noticed that another mobile banner is appearing above the plugin’s banner. It also seems that some plugin or custom code may be removing the Mobile Smart App Banner after it loads. Additionally, the same banner which is loading above the Mobile Smart App Banner appears to be pushing the footer upward on the page.
Could you please try temporarily disabling the other banner on the website and clear the cache to test this further? Also, have you already performed a conflict check to determine whether another plugin or the current theme is hiding or affecting the Mobile Smart App Banner plugin?
I have disabled the other banner, it was a popup maker popup that I was testing out.
If it helps to have another example, I’ve tried the plugin on a development site https://wordpress-1602478-6374163.cloudwaysapps.com/ where it is set to the top and I’m also seeing the short flash and then white box with no content.
Thanks for that. Have you tried to perform a conflict check by switching the theme to a default theme like Twenty Twenty Two and by only activating only the Mobile Smart App Banner plugin? You can use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin for this; see the video at https://youtu.be/uYZl4nbrJKk?si=zpF90VK5FE6pCYui, and watch it from 8:30.
For your site’s health and safety, we recommend creating regular backups of your site and database before performing a conflict check. This is especially important before installing, updating, or removing plugins. Learn more about the benefits of regular backups.
If you have a staging site, I would recommend that you troubleshoot on it or drop an email to me to help further.
It does appear to be a theme conflict, on my development site I switched to 2025 temporarily and the banner works correctly. I believe it’s a conflict with classes position-bottom and position-top that are already used in the theme. I will continue trying to resolve, thanks for your helping in pointing me to the right direction 😀
Good to hear that. I have been actively testing this by spinning up multiple sites to check whether any bugs exist in the code. Let me wrap things up and get some sleep now 😁
Feel free to reply with the fix you have made, so I can make those as important in the plugin CSS.
