Basic Authentification for the changed url

Hello,

I have changed my login page to something other than wp-admin, let’s say the new url is :
mywebsite.com/login

Now I want to use the Basic Auth method to password protect this new url using htaccess + htpasswd.

Is doing such a thing possible ? All the documentation I found online is about password protecting wp-admin and applying it as it is doesn’t seem to work.
