    Hi There Thom,
The plugin looks impressive, however I was hoping there would be some sort of quick start guide? I may be missing something, but the tutorials seem to target specific functionality, with no guide on how to just get the plugin up and running.

    Thanks

    Sam

Al the settings have an info icon. The basic setup is in the Basic Config tab.

I’m sorry, but that doesn’t really help.

I can’t find the shortcode generator, which probably doesn’t help – but usage isn’t at all clear. This looks like a great plugin, really, but some proper documentation would be really helpful.

The way it’s currently set up seems to assume a familiarity that I don’t have.

A basic guide setup guide would save a lot of time – the info icons on the settings are useful when you want to tweak and play about once someone is already familiar with the basic functionality, but it’s really not an intuitive way to learn how to use the plugin from scratch.

I really don’t mean to complain – you’re obviously very talented. I’m just a little frustrated because this plugin seems like the perfect answer to a particularly narksome problem. I just can’t work out how to use it

Click on the Toolbar toggle on your TinyMCE panel. The shortcode button is on the second row, unless you specify otherwise on the Options tab on the settings page.

Of the 20,000 downloaders, you’re the first to request more tutorials and instructions than the ridiculously exhaustive help I’ve provided. It’s a free plugin.

Set up your Basic Config tab as common sense would suggest, then just start by adding [fileaway] to your page, and build from there.

    Thanks Thom,
It wasn’t a personal attack, and I love your plugin.

I know it’s free, but that’s not really the point. I would have certainly purchased it and fully intend on donating. I am not disputing the fact that your tutorials are comprehensive, but it’s not just not the way I learn best. I only said that I wanted a getting started guide. Literally just bullet-pointed instructions

It’s a little harsh to allude to the fact that I’m dumber than 20,000 others, but that’s ok 🙂

I’ve never used TinyMCE and didn’t realise it was a pre-requisite.

Thanks for your help, it’s appreciated

I never implied nor imagined your were “dumb.” TinyMCE is built-in to WordPress’s page editor. I am not reacting to any perceived “personal attack” against me. I perceived no such attack.

I’ll answer your questions if you have specific ones, but that’s about it.

You also have the screenshots here for your reference.
