It sounds like your API key stopped working. You can log into your Google account to fix the issue. If you haven’t added a key to the BGMP settings, then that’s probably the problem; Google started requiring that awhile back.
After you fix the API key, you should be able to update the posts in order to re-trigger the geocoding, and make the icons appear.

We’re experiencing the same issue at our site. Old/existing maps are still working on the public view. Cannot add a new placemark, only text part of entry is working and editing an existing map location in a placemark post results in a error: Request Denied.
Checked our Google API keys and they are correct and credit card is up-to-date. API’s for Maps Javascript and Geolocation are enabled. Domain is enabled with a wildcard – *palestineportal.org.

Correction: API keys entry for allowed domain should have read:
*domainname.org/*
I generally remember to remove the domain name but was rushed. Anyway it should have a /* on the end.
The JavaScript API is working fine. It’s only the Geocoding not working and it’s registering “100% errors for the method”.
