    Just used this plugin for the first time, worked great. I have a question. I have a demo website where I have updated the theme and overall look. So I want to export the pages, posts, nextgen photos, media images from the current/soon to be old website to the new folder that contains my new theme and set-up. Would I use this plugin for that? or just the export, import tool within wordpress?

    You want to use the plugin. The export/import tool will not handle all of the resources that you listed but the plugin will.
