Basic Question About Wordfence

    Hi, I was looking at Wordfence and wanted to ask if it is easy to manage for normal day to day site security. I am mainly looking for something simple and useful without too much extra work.

    We generally only provide support for specific issues but I’m certainly happy to point you in the right direction. For most of our 5m+ customers, Wordfence should be effective out of the box with no requirement to tweak any settings. However, we never know the hosting platform or other services up-front like server firewalls or CDNs such as Cloudflare where a little extra configuration may be required. Most administrators will be using it without touching the settings day-to-day after initial setup.

    If things seem a bit daunting, we have good free resources on our website, YouTube, and Learning Center so you can understand a bit more about how the plugin works. Once you’ve been using the plugin for a while, you might feel more confident to tighten up some settings or add features like CAPTCHA or 2-factor authentication for admin accounts.
