Basic question: Plug in does not seem to be working

    I am trying to get started with php coding in wordpress. I just wrote a little code snippet. But it seems to be not be parsing the insert_php short code. Instead it’s spitting out everything verbatim. I did check multiple times that the code was keyed in on the “Text” tab and not the “Visual tab”. I have checked that the Insert PHP plugin is installed and is active. I feel like I am missing something obvious. But this is my first attempt and I need some help.

    There’s nothing wrong with your Insert PHP code. When copied it from the source code of your web page and pasted it into my WordPress installation, it worked like it should.

    Perhaps a plugin or framework you’re using is preventing Insert PHP from working. That’s just a guess and it may be inaccurate.

    If you have access to a clean installation of WordPress, you could try it there.

    Otherwise, it may require disabling and reenabling your current plugins until you find which one isn’t playing nice. As mentioned earlier, plugin incompatibility might not be the problem, but it should be investigated.
