• Many basic items are stuck behind the paywall, like being able to see beyond the last 30 days, and they had the gall to put up the graphs of the blocked items, obscuring the info while demanding the money. Fortunately, I used my browser blocker to hide them, which made half my dashboard disappear. Also, it counts bot hits from China as if they were legitimate. My site has nothing of interest for the Chinese, so to count them is an error on MonsterInsights part.

Overall, very little info, so no real way to see if it’s worth the (hideous amount of) money they demand a year. And don’t get me started on subscription-only option.

    Hi @macwillard,

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

I’m sorry about our free version seeming not useful or feeling too limited, we try to provide as much value as possible to our users by communicating the Pro version features because a lot of users aren’t aware of them and can benefit greatly.

With MonsterInsights Lite, you’re able to track and view critical site statistics (such as page views in the last 30 days, top posts and pages, etc) and automatically track the following custom events:

    • Download link tracking
    • Affiliate link tracking
    • Outbound link tracking
    • Telephone link tracking
    • Email link tracking
    • Custom link click events

To learn a bit more about our features, please click here.

We also include two summary reports: stats at a glance, and a monthly email report. This is alongside other useful tools like a headline analyzer, a UTM URL builder, a widget for displaying the most popular posts, to help increase site engagement. When making any changes to your site, you can also add a site note to help keep track of the impact it has on your analytics.

Bot filtering is handled by the Google Analytics team directly, and by default, they automatically try to exclude known bot traffic in case that helps to know: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9888366?hl=en

But some do unfortunately get through. To help with this we recommend looking at using a Firewall or WordPress security plugin, and making sure all of your plugins are up to date. To get started, here’s a general guide you can check out: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wordpress-security/

We really appreciate you for giving us a try and if you have any suggestions for the things you’d like to see in the Lite version, please let me know and I’d be happy to share your feedback with the team.

    Thank you!
