Hello and thank you for your review. It is much appreciated!
Please return edit mode for Main page Title, it was so cool, now i can do it only in wp custom settings… π
Hmm, I’m not sure I understand correctly which feature you are referring to.. A custom title can be set in the Edit Screen of the built-in and custom content types. I’d be glad to hear more about this in the forums or on Github!
Update: BTW, using the ‘Advanced Title Management’ feature it is possible to have total control over the title of content or archive pages (including the default front page).
Kind Regards,
GeorgeI apologize, my English was not so good that i would clearly articulate the idea. I will show my site as an example of this situation.
Example: Image
On the picture you see the title I entered in the settings of main page. Also in the picture you can see that custom wordpress title overwrites the title is written in the settings page in the add meta tags plugin. This happens even with enabled option “Advanced Title Management”.
Thank you for support.
Best Regards, Aleksandr.Hi Aleksandr,
Everything is fine with the language. No worries!
If I understand correctly, the problem is that, when a static page is used as the front page, the custom title you enter in the page’s Edit Screen in the ‘Metadata’ box (Title field) is not used and the front page has a different title. Is this correct?
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this issue using WordPress 4.4 and Add-Meta-Tags 2.9.11 and one of the latest themes (TwentyFifteen). On the other hand, I can only reproduce the issue with older themes, like TwentyTwelve, TwentyFourteen.
Yesterday I received feedback from some users about the custom title not being used and it turned out that the problem is the theme, which has not been updated for WordPress 4.4 resulting in the plugin not being able to modify the title.
In this comment I have outlined some basic instructions about how to make your theme compatible with WordPress 4.4 ‘title-tag’ feature.
Please let me know if these instructions help you resolve the problem. Feel free to send more feedback about this and I’ll be glad to help.
Best Regards,
GeorgeHi George! Yes, that’s right, the problem was exactly what you described. I use the theme TwentyTwelve and I have produced the actions which you describe in the link above.
And it Helped!
I made changes to the file functions.php and removed <title> from header.php. Also I turn off “Enable advanced title management” and everything was working as it was before, and now I can completely change the <title> on any page as needed.
Thank you for your quality support!Best Regards, Aleksandr.
Hi Aleksandr,
I’m glad the notes have helped you resolve the issue.
I’ve also done some more research and have released 2.9.12 which should be backwards compatible with all themes. Your feedback is welcome and much appreciated.
George
