• Hi.

I tried to find the solutions by searching, but no luck.. I hope some of you can help me.

    I’m making a photoblog: http://www.jorgent.com

    1) I don’t want any space between the header image and the browser edge. It looks ok in Firefox, but in IE, there is some space. I found this:
    http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/48530
.. but I couldn’t fint a solution to my problem there.

    2) If you look at this image:
    http://www.jorgent.com/div/fotoside_utkast.jpg

.. you can see that I have the bottom part of the camera beneath the header. How do I add that image as a background image on the index.php? I don’t want it to repeat it self so that it covers the whole frontpage. Or should I paste the menu code into the header.php instead of index.php? That way I don’t need to cut the header in two. The menu should be able to overlap the bottom part of the camera. I’m using the kubrick theme.

    Thanks πŸ™‚

Hmm, I already have the menu code in the header.php, and not on the index.php, so just ignore that part.

Ok, I have finally managed to get the bg image like I want.. But I still don’t know why there is a space between the header and the browser edge in IE. It’s not there in Firefox. How can I remove the space?

I must be a pain in the ass, but I don’t give up. Please anyone? πŸ™‚ I have looked through the css, but with little css skills, I’m stuck.

Hmm, so hard to get help..

Yes, I agree, it’s difficult to help beacuse of the nature of the problem. Most helpers use FF developers toolbar to take a look at the code/stylesheet, but whatever we suspect as a cause it cannot be checked in IE.
I’d go through all the style declarations in the header.php and the style.css. Look for duplicate declarations, incomplete code, e.g. margin defined only on 3 sides instead of 4; or an empty h1 tag in the header with a huge padding-top etc.

Finally, thanks! πŸ™‚ I’ve allready done that several times, but I guess I just have to look harder.. I have another blog with no space between the header and the IE browser edge, but I don’t remember how I did it, and I even can’t figure it out when I look at that sites theme files. Again, I guess I have to look harder.

Hmm, maybe I’ve been asking about difficult things this week, cause you’re the first to answer any of my 10-15 posts πŸ™‚ I appreceate your feedback!

If you check your css in FF, there are a couple of problems. One is you are missing a at your navmenu.

Hi jwurster! Thanks for looking at my site!

I’m not sure what you mean about “missing a at your navmenu”.

I have to go now so it’s probably I can’t reply more today, but please feel free to post your suggestions anyway πŸ™‚
