Black border appears around elements when plugin is active
-
Hi,
I’m having an issue with the OneTap plugin. As soon as the plugin is activated, thin black borders appear around various elements in the frontend – even though I haven’t selected anything inside the widget.
Examples:
- the close “X” on the Complianz cookie banner
- headings that I jump to via an HTML anchor (e.g. clicking a link to
#my-anchoradds a thin black border around that heading)
If I deactivate the OneTap plugin, all borders disappear immediately. I’m not enabling anything in the widget. Simply activating the plugin is enough for the issue to appear. I use the theme Kadence.
Steps to reproduce
- Install and activate OneTap.
- Open the front end.
- Look at the Complianz cookie banner → the close icon shows a thin black border.
- Click a link that jumps to an HTML anchor on the same page (TOC) → the target heading appears with a thin black border.
When I deactivate OneTap, all borders disappear.
Expected behavior: Borders should only appear if a corresponding accessibility feature is triggered.
Actual behavior: The plugin seems to apply a global style (possibly
:focus,:focus-visibleor similar) that adds a border to elements across the entire site. Even if no features in the widget are active.Could you please check whether the plugin is adding global CSS rules? And if so, remove it, if no accessibility features are activated in the widget.
Thanks!
