  • Try renaming your plugins folder using FTP or Cpanel – to plugins.HOLD

See if that fixes the blank admin issue.

Nope, still white screen of death.

…although, I just went on Macintosh HD, found the plugins folder, and rewrote the folder name as plugins.HOLD. I’m not sure that’s what you meant; especially since I don’t know how to use FTP or Cpanel, and don’t know what they mean. I’m not a techie–just a small business owner with only user-end experience.

…now, I installed Transmit and am trying to link it to my site http://www.westafricandrumdance.com but Transmit wants my password to the site. I’ve been trying to change my password to my site, but when I do (e.g., say “forgot your password,” then check the email link, then reset the password), WordPress won’t let me in at all now. It shakes back and forth and says “invalid username or password.”

I did install “Cache” plugin on WP, and perhaps that is what white-deathed my site. But it had been plugged in for about two weeks, and never seemed to have activated.

Obviously I’ve done something very, very bad to my account, but have no idea what, or when. I think whatever I try, I keep making the problem worse.

You need to use FTP or Cpanel via your hosting to access your site files on the server – your site files are not on your local computer. FTP login info is not the same as your WP login – so ask your hosting company for help getting FTP or Cpanel set up – those are not part of WP, so not something anyone here can help with.
