Thanks for swinging by the forum. I totally understand the concern over not seeing the plugin respond as expected.
Judging by what’s being experienced, the first step will likely be to reach out to your host to ensure that there aren’t any restrictions in place that might prevent the plugin from behaving as expected. If they determine that there are some restrictions in place, it may help to have them whitelist traffic to-and-from the following domain and IP’s:

If they’re able to confirm that no restrictions exist, it’s possible that an existing plugin on your site is conflicting with the MailChimp List Subscribe Form. As a result, it may help to try and disable all the plugins on your site, before re-enabling them one-by-one. That can help with narrowing down any possible culprits.
If that doesn’t work, it may help to update to a more current version of WordPress. While we’d support versions 2.8 and above, the more current the version of WordPress the better.
