Blank Customer is getting created

    Hi team,

    I’ve noticed a strange issue with the WooCommerce Stripe plugin. As soon as the plugin is activated on my site, a blank customer (no email or metadata) is automatically created in my Stripe account, this happens within a few seconds of activation, even without any checkout or customer activity on the site.

    Hi @mouindi,

    I understand how unusual and concerning it is to see blank customer records automatically created in your Stripe dashboard without any site interaction, especially right after activating the WooCommerce Stripe plugin. That definitely shouldn’t be happening, so we’ll look into it together.

    To get a better picture, could you let us know when you first started noticing this behavior? Was it after a recent update to the plugin, or has it been occurring for a while now?

    Also, please share your System Status Report with us by going to WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support and paste it via https://pastebin.com or https://gist.github.com. Additionally, check for any logs related to the WooCommerce Stripe plugin under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. If logging isn’t enabled yet, you can turn it on under WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Settings > Advanced settings.

    Once we have those details, we’ll be in a better position to pinpoint what’s triggering this and help you resolve it. Looking forward to your update!

    From the error log you included, we can see repeated deprecation warnings related to the WooCommerce Cart Reports plugin:

    While this may seem unrelated at first, deprecated or unstable code in other plugins can occasionally interfere with normal operations, including background Stripe API activity — especially if those plugins tie into the checkout or session logic.

    As a next step, I recommend the following test:

    1. Deactivate WooCommerce Stripe first.
    2. Then deactivate WooCommerce Cart Reports.
    3. Reactivate WooCommerce Stripe, and monitor your Stripe dashboard to see if any blank customers are created automatically again.

    This test will help determine if the Cart Reports plugin is contributing to the unexpected Stripe behavior. Let us know how it goes — we’ll be ready to explore further based on what you find.

    @lovingbro, we have deactivated the WooCommerce Cart Report plugin, however still it is triggering the blank customer again.

    This is a quick update to let you know the latest Stripe version (9.7.0) which includes a fix for this case we’ve been working on has been released already. It should be available for update now.
