Blank gap after Fixed Column galleries

With a Fixed Column gallery, I get a large blank area after the gallery. The size of the area depends on the aspect ration of the images. If the images are square, there’s no gap, but if they are Landscape format, a gap appears – it seems the plugin is calculating the space required for the gallery based on a square image format, but not reducing this space as the image height reduces.

I have no gap problems if I use a Fixed gallery, but then the gallery is not as responsive to different screen sizes.

This is with the free version of the plugin.
