Blank line generated before XML header

The XML file generated has a blank line before the <?xml tag. This is causing validation to fail with the error message “XML or text declaration not at start of entity”. This happens even if all plugins are disabled except XML-Sitemap-Generator, and I believe we are using the default settings for the plugin.
