No you are right, there are no validations.
The thoughts behind is that users start with submitting post to status pending, and once they are trusted they can post directly – using standard wordpress post transitions.
I dont know about restrict category plugin, but you can limit access to categories within frontier post it self.

You can find documentation here: http://wpfrontier.com/
In general settings you can set categories to be excluded for all users, ond on capability settings you can set allowed categories per profile.
It will limit the categories a user can select from, but no error messages etc.
Thanks for the quick reply but can you suggest any solution so categories can be restricted per user basis and not on all the users only?
and for the validation point of view is it possible to enable validation somehow?

Restricting categories can be done per profile by the allowed categories, but not per user.
You can use the template form possibility of Frontier Post: http://wpfrontier.com/frontier-post-templates-css/
But it will require coding. You can make your own javascript validation, and desogn your own category selection

Hi,
I have added validation if title or content is empty – If so, status is set to draft and a warning is issued.
you will need version 3.4.3 which you can download here:
https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/frontier-post.3.4.3.zip
I have also given a example of how you can implement a category validation using filters: http://wpfrontier.com/frontier-post-actions-hooks/
– This also requires version 3.4.3
version 3.4.3 needs a bit more testing so it wont show up as a automatic update.
Hello,
I am using the plugin for a site that needs the users to be able to post only a title, without setting it to draft.
What did I have to do? Get to older version or any other way?
Please be hurry, because we have to start the website in just a few days.
