I don’t have a link because my blog isn’t live yet.

I just posted my first post. On the main page, when you scroll to the bottom, you’ll see (starting from top and going down) Recent Posts, a blank rectangle, and then the date followed by an excerpt of my post.

I didn’t have an image in the post but it seems to be trying to display a picture.

How can I make the blank space go away and what causes it?

I’m new to WP. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Thank you, siniplyrathemes. I did a little more digging. It appears that it’s because I don’t have a featured image for the post (really don’t want one) so it just puts a blank space where the photo would be. I could add a default image for when I don’t have a photo for a post but it’s not what I really want to do. I probably have no choice?

You’re welcome.

It could be fixed using some additional CSS, I suppose, but I’d need to see the website in order to be able to suggest something. And no, screenshot most likely wouldn’t help much.
