Blinking icons in menu

There seem to be some blinking icons in navigation menu on pages where I’m using the Visual Portfolio shortcodes.

I read an earlier thread that suggested there may be some incompatibility with font awesome svg in the theme but, my theme is definitely compatible. Any idea on how to fix this?
