• Hello all,
I am creating my website using localhost MAMP. I notice that the block editor is different from the one in WP.com. Some blocks aren’t there like the Hero, Masonry,Stacked, CoBlocks, CoBlock galleries and so on. Why is this so? Is it because at WP.org we must create these ourselves OR it is because i’m using a localhost so there’s limited features? Like will these block features be there is using a paid host??

If so how can we create these same features like using a Hero block for example? And once created, when I upload the website live, will there be any problem as it wasn’t an element that was part of the block editor??

    Thank you.

wordpress.com using block addons available by Jetpack plugin,
    maybe some more addons.
You can make your site more wordpress.com-like by installing Jetpack

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/jetpack/

but it is not recommended on localhost installs, because for full functionality Jetpack needs to be reachable from WordPress.com

Thanks @fierevere .is this the only way?

I still need answers to my other questions please anyone:
    1.using localhost has limited features?
    2. how can we create these same features like using a Hero block for example? (besides installing Jetpack)
    3. And once created, when I upload the website live, will there be any problem as it wasn’t an element that was part of the block editor??

    1. using local host implies those limits:
    * your host is not reachable by external services,
some features of Jetpack may not work
    * Your local set up may differ from typical hosting, some PHP extensions may be disabled, you can revise your server configuration and enable them.
See if Dashboard > Tools > Site Health can advise you anything.

Here are no other limits compared to non-local set ups.

2, Here are many block libraries available as plugins.
    Example: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/peuwl-hero-block-lite/
Please explore search in plugin catalog to find whatever you need.

    3. Shouldnt be any problem if server configurations dont differ much.
I’d recommend to use migration plugins to transfer your site to hosting. Such as https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/duplicator/
